Magic Lamp

Magic Lamp

This 7-inch diameter bowl was turned from a single block of Sapele. The upper portion was turned off-center to create a pleasing spiral shape. Spiral 'arms' and end fittings were carved and finished to create a contrasting spiral border for the Sapele wood. The spirals were finished with blended transparent colors to create the iridescent look. End fittings were painted gold to add to the overall 'magic' look. All it needs now is an oil lamp inside and then some gentle rubbing to coax out the genie.... Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
