Nature's Reflections 1
This piece from spalted and quilted boxelder simply glows! It features Double Natural style with both a natural top edge and natural bottom and was crafted from crotchwood. Notice in the pictures of the back of the piece how there is a very pleasing contour to the natural bottom that looks similar to the top of a heart. I did have a very difficult time photographing this one. It is hard to capture the shape. It stands 11" high and is 5" wide. It actually has more variation and flow from widest portion to the neck than shows in the pictures. Some of these pictures make it look somewhat squat, but it certainly is not. The pictures capture better the chetoyance and wonderful spalting of the piece. So I have run with them. I finished this piece with multiple coats of waterbased poly after sanding it to 1000. It really does look better in person.
