Twisted Slats

This 4 1/2 inch tall bowl was turned from slats arranged in an overlapping pattern as shown in the top view insert. The overall shape was turned off-center using a 3-point multi axis method to generate the twist. Interaction of the twist and overlapping slats creates some interesting geometric patterns. Wood used includes Curly Maple, Cherry and Zebrawood. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall System.
