    Dovetail or tenon for bowls?

I'm sure this had been discussed but just got through finishing a small bowl that had a tenon during the process. What determines a tenon or dovetail for turning a bowl? Thanks.

    Bowl turning

I picked up a back issue (February 2018) to reply to a post on another forum. The cover highlighted an article by the noted Glenn Lucas. The article was a very straight-forward approach to turning a bowl. Only thing was his use of four tools; I only have one bowl gouge. Just need to take it easy...

    Sharp tools!

Wasn't in the mood to turn yesterday but set up the grinder and the Wolverine setup. Went through all my tools and sharpened them. Today I did some turning for practice. Makes a big difference! I turned some small tree limbs and some square pieces with the roughing gouge. I decided to try the...

    Bowl gouge grind

Frustrated, to say the least. Started with a piece of cherry to make a lidded box which became a design modification ending up as a practice piece. I have the Wolverine system and Vari-Grind and Rikon grinder. I tried to grind a Benjamin's Best bowl gouge to an Irish grind; off a video. Worked...

Making a bedan tool and scrapers?

Not sure if this is the correct forum section but here goes. Got three pieces of HSS a while back. Discovered them hiding on the top shelf in the shop. One is going to be a bedan tool. I was thinking the other two could be ground to RH and LH scrapers similar to those used for bowl interiors. I...
