The AAW was informed today of the passing of dear friend and wood art collector Arthur Mason on February 12, 2019.

At this sad time, AAW celebrates his life and honors his legacy. We are blessed to have known Arthur and treasure the extraordinary support and influence he has had on woodturning and wood art. Our hearts go out to his wife Jane and his family.

ArthUr was long time member of the Chesapeake woodturners and a great freind to woodturning.
While he is best know as a collector He did a little bit of turning and took a week long class with Bonnie Kline
He led many sessions over the years at the AAW symposium. I always enjoyed opportunities to talk with Arthur and his wife Jane who was also a member of the Chesapeake club.

Arthur and Jane hosted the Chesapeake club in their home on several occasions to see their extensive collection of turning. They also often invited the well known turners who visited the Chesapeake club to their their home as well.
Arthur and Jane are both life members of the AAW
Woodturning has lost a true freind

Sherry and I will miss him.
